Download printer-driver-gutenprint5.3.3-4arm64.deb for 20.04 LTS from Ubuntu Main repository. Download Gutenprint - Top Quality Printer Drivers for free. A very high quality package of printer drivers for CUPS on Linux, Macintosh OS X, and other POSIX-compliant operating systems. This project also maintains an enhanced Print plug-in for GIMP 2.x from the same code base. Gutenprint is the successor of Gimp-Print, it was renamed with the change from version 4.x to 5.x. All printers which worked with Gimp-Print before, work also (and hopefully better) with Gutenprint. The actual printer drivers are in the Gutenprint library. To give access to them Gutenprint has various interfaces.
The Gutenprint Top Quality Printer Drivers (hereaftercalled Gutenprint) are a set of printer drivers written totake advantage of the full capabilities of a wide range ofprinters. These drivers should work on any POSIX compliant operatingsystem (e.g. Linux, Solaris, IRIX, etc). This document will explain how touse the Gutenprint software to achieve high quality printouts from theGIMP (GNU ImageManipulation Program) andCUPS (Common Unix PrintingSystem).
Please note that in addition to using the Gutenprint software as aprint plugin for the GIMP, and as a set of printer drivers for CUPS, thissoftware can also be compiled and used with the Ghostscript softwareand with the Foomatic software.
Regardless of whether the Gutenprint software is used with the GIMP,CUPS, Ghostscript, or Foomatic, the print quality and printer settingsremain the same. However, use of the Gutenprint with Ghostscript andFoomatic is not covered in this document. These topics may be coveredin a future revision of this document.
This document corresponds to version 4.2.0 and later of the Gutenprintsoftware. This document will serve as a guide to the user, and as suchwill not explain how to install Gutenprint, CUPS, GIMP, Ghostscript,Foomatic, or any other related software.
